Tesla’s ‘Dog Mode’
Yes, believe it or not Tesla are working on a ‘dog mode’.
After a twitter user made the suggestion, Elon Musk has backed the idea.
He has now publicly said that he would like to create a dog mode to keep your pooches pleased (and more importantly safe). The car manufacturer stated:
“In an industry-first safety measure, we’re also introducing Cabin Overheat Protect, focused on child (and pet) safety. This feature keeps the car at a safe temperature for hours, even when the car is off. This feature is only made possible by an electric vehicle with Tesla’s uniquely large battery packs.”
Now, you might be thinking ‘people walking past will still think the dog is boiling’. This however, has been thought of. A message on the (very large) iPad like screen will alert passers-by that the dog is safe!
The greatest thing about this change and all the other potential changes that Tesla may introduce is that it can be rolled out to all cars via the click of a button. Just by updating the software! This means that it will not only be the newest models that receive these updates but everyone that owns a Tesla!
This feature will make dog owners happy however, it does not take away from Elon’s recent antics on twitter and alike. Yes that’s right Elon, we haven’t forgotten! On the other hand, taking customer’s ideas on board is a plus. There aren’t many CEOs out there that respond to customers via twitter within 24 hours.
No matter what people think of Elon Musk, Tesla’s ‘dog mode’ is a pretty brilliant idea.
